Christina Benoit

Creative Director

After graduating from Savannah College of Art and Design with an interior design degree Christina moved to Maine from Florida. Christina and Greg founded Benoit’s Design Co in 2014 while working in the interior design community. She joined Greg in 2018 as Creative Director of the brand. A daughter of two crafters she learned to love working with natural materials and exploring new mediums. If you don’t find her working in the studio, she can be found on Casco Bay, exploring nature, or on a crafting adventure.

Greg Benoit

Founder

Greg graduated with a BFA in industrial design from SCAD and moved back to Maine in 2011. He began his design career as a product designer for a national outdoor retailer. After having a life altering event in 2013 he and Christina decided to found Benoit’s Design Company in Westbrook Maine. Greg realized life is precious and wanted to design products that connected to the adventurer within everyone. He grew up in very active family who spent summer on the water and winter in the mountains. Any chance he can get he loves to travel and experience new cultures. If he doesn’t have projects up to his eyeballs than he is spending time with family and friends, dishing up something new in “Greg’s dirty kitchen”, or cleaning the dust off the shop dog, Walter.

Justin Gonyea

Designer

Justin is a creative professional and avid family man. He enjoys communicating visually and solving problems with design. Prior to joining Benoit's Design Co. Justin spent the last ten years as a high school art and design teacher in Burlington, VT. He has traveled to every state in the continental United States (in one road trip), made a horror movie with a bunch of teenagers and holds a current "personal best" record of 54 raw oysters on the half shell in one sitting. When Justin isn't creating in the studio you can find him and his family grilling, hiking, camping, skateboarding or just exploring Maine. Or, you know, trying to eat more oysters.

Karen Stanhope

Administrator

Karen had a long, successful career in Corporate America and retired after 35 years to search for a position that she could be passionate about and still utilize her Administrative, Project Management and Accounting skills. When not working, Karen can be found attempting to run, bike and swim as she trains for the Tri for A Cure event held annually by the Maine Cancer Foundation, or experimenting in the kitchen, cooking or baking new recipes to test on her family and friends. Karen enjoys traveling to the Caribbean islands with her husband to escape the Maine winter, if only for a brief time, each year.
